Clara's Statement on AI Regulations for Mental Health

Recent discussions around AI regulation in mental health highlight an important conversation about protecting people while ensuring access to support. We believe thoughtful regulation should protect people and expand access to effective support, not limit options in an already strained mental health system.

The reality is that more than half of those struggling with their mental health receive no support at all. As AI becomes more integrated into daily life, the question isn't whether people will turn to it for support — they already are. The question we should be asking is whether the tools available are responsible, clinically grounded, and designed to respect and promote a person's agency.

We built Clara to offer people something new to the mental health space that's both safe and effective. We remain committed to working with policymakers on thoughtful standards for mental health AI that ensure everyone can get the help they need while maintaining appropriate safeguards.

Our Commitment

Clara is designed with safety, privacy, and user wellbeing at its core. We believe in:

We welcome dialogue with regulators, clinicians, and users to ensure AI mental health tools serve everyone responsibly.
